Unified Communications Pre-Sales Consultant

The Unified Communications Pre-Sales Consultant must be able to understand customer’s existing and desired voice and network environments in order to develop a strategy for on premise and cloud/hybrid based solutions. The role will require excellent knowledge of hosted and on premise telephony systems, Cisco and/or Microsoft UC applications, Networking and Security technologies. An understanding of Contact Centre, Gamma Horizon/Broadsoft platforms, Servers, Virtualisation, and Active Directory is also of benefit. The role will require the design of comprehensive on-premise, hybrid and datacentre based solutions for corporate customers.

The key focus will be in the following areas (shown in order of priority):

  • Business voice systems, Hosted Telephony, Unified Communications, VoIP and SIP
  • Cisco Communications Manager, Gateways and SIP
  • Contact Centre – Enghouse (Zeacom), Cisco UCCX
  • Microsoft – Skype for Business, Exchange and Active Directory
  • Cisco & Meraki Networking – LAN, WAN, Wireless and Mobility
  • Microsoft/Cisco Integrations (Enterprise Voice, Video, Messaging)

The jobholder will be expected to maintain awareness of the technology trends in this arena.

The role will be based at the Riseley Head-Office in Berkshire. Travel throughout the UK will be required to perform this function.

The Unified Communication Pre-Sales Consultant will develop and deliver high quality technical solutions based on CORETX standard product offerings in the form of;

  • Direct engagement with corporate customers
  • Requirements capture
  • Production of High Level Design documentation
  • Indicative Cost/Pricing documentation
  • Solution Design Proposals

The Unified Communications Pre-Sales Consultant is responsible for the technical components of the sales process and should also have a good understanding of the commercial impact on CORETX and the customer, focussing on providing the best value for the customer whilst maximising the revenue opportunity for CORETX.

Acting as a key conduit between the Sales organisation and the Operational organisation, balancing the requirements of each with the solutions proposed with responsibility for ensuring all proposals and design documents are approved in the Bid Review Process.

In addition to a specific focus on Unified Communications, this role requires a good understanding of our entire portfolio of services coupled with the ability to translate requirements into solutions that can be managed by the operational teams.

 

Key areas of Responsibilities:

  • Establish requirements from a business and technical perspective
  • Understand customer environments and the process of migrating to the new design
  • Understand all aspects of network, UC and infrastructure assessment processes in preparation for solution scope and design
  • Support sales in proposing solutions and services to meet requirements
  • Maintain close working relationships with relevant contacts at all times
  • Perform product/concept demonstrations and presentations to support sales process
  • Generate professional documentation, including sales proposals, scope of works, design specifications and consultancy documents
  • Ensure that all activities are scoped and priced accurately to achieve profit projections
  • On occasions, perform fee-earning business and technical consultancy services

Attain and maintain appropriate manufacturer accreditations/certifications as required by:

  • Self study of manuals, web and appropriate text books
  • Work in the Technology Lab and Innovation Centre to gain and maintain familiarity of products, their configuration and integration
  • Formal training courses as agreed necessary with manager
  • Ensure that KPIs are met or exceeded
  • Other activities as deemed necessary from time to time, in keeping with an overall Pre-Sales Consultant role and within experience level.

  • Hosted and On-premise Unified Communications systems

  • LAN/WAN Networking and Security with an emphasis on Telephony including QoS
  • Enterprise applications (Collaboration, messaging, web services, etc.)
  • Cloud, Virtualisation and Compute
  • Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS)
  • Familiarity with creating and managing complex BOMs, (e.g. using Cisco Commerce Workspace)
  • Monitoring, application and performance tools
  • ITIL v3 foundation or Equivalent knowledge in service management
  • Existing Vendor accreditations an advantage, especially Cisco and Microsoft

 

Experience/Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) grades A*- C to include Maths, English and Science
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in computer science or similar technical professional qualifications
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of Voice applications and Networking with an Infrastructure foundation
  • Experience working in a Pre-Sales role or environment
  • Working knowledge of service provider market place
  • Experience in the design of customer facing Telephony services and solutions
  • Ability to engage with customers professionally at all levels
  • Valid UK driving licence
