Application Support Technician

Key areas of Responsibilities:

  • Support all corporate and client facing applications within CORETX
  • Install software to support an extensive computer systems network
  • Assist in maintaining support documentation on network software
  • Escalate problems to software providers as required
  • Maintain appropriate technical documentation
  • Provide troubleshooting support for applications
  • Implement security and user administration
  • Own and drive the resolution on the application issues, communicate the statuses, root cause analysis, and provide post resolution reporting for high severity incidents


  • Working knowledge of database technologies such as MSSQL and MySQL
  • Good knowledge / experience of working with Linux
  • Knowledge of RMM software packages. (Kaseya, Solarwinds, Nagios, Foglight)
  • Experience of effective ticket based management
  • A clear focus and positive approach to problem solving and helping keep customers satisfied with their system and service
  • Keen to expand your skills in an extremely client-focused organisation, in addition to your technical skills and experience, your presentation and communications skills will be key to your success
  • You will be required to conduct client-facing training from time to time and to work alongside both in-house and client IT staff on some larger projects
  • You will be expected to analyse business problems, devise efficient and effective solutions and make justifiable recommendations for their implementation
  • Undergraduate degree in an information technology related subject or equivalent
  • Ability to script in any of the languages Perl, Python, PowerShell, VBScript or bash
  •  Self-motivated
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Effective time management
  • Able to communicate at a business and technical level as appropriate
  • Able to understand problems from a user perspective and interpret their technical needs
  • Relevant Microsoft certification is a plus and experience in Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012
  • Active Directory forest, tree and domain administration
